- From the April/May 2001 DIALOGUE column:
"I recently read an article on volunteer management and that the difference between an employee and a volunteer is the paycheque. The employee's paycheque holds monetary value, but the volunteer's represents physiological value. For me that value includes the satisfaction and sense of accomplishment that comes with working alongside a dedicated team of Board members, volunteers and staff to move the Association forward in achieving its strategic plan... Today and in the future, we will always be in need of volunteers and the combination of experience and knowledge that you as payroll practitioners are willing to share."
