Armed with a solid strategic plan and unique leadership skills resembling that of a pied piper, Patrick has inspired our members, the Board, our staff and all of our stakeholders to attain the vision of what the payroll profession could be.
Under his leadership in the last ten years, the CPA has:
- Increased membership by 150% to almost 16,000 organizations and professionals
- Expanded its products and services such as web seminars, JobConnect, and our best practices CPA payroll guidelines
- Increased annual revenues by 140% from 5 million dollars to 12 million dollars
- Enhanced its federal and provincial government relations
- Redeveloped its Certification programs, and
- Developed a strategic plan that continuously improves the Association.
Patrick also represents employers' views on several government committees (for example, with the Canada Revenue Agency, Service Canada, Industry Canada, and Human Resources and Skills Development Canada).
He also contributes to other associations, for example, as a member of the Board of Directors of the Canadian Society of Association Executives (CSAE), where he chairs its Government Relations Committee and contributes on the CSAE Knowledge Management Task Force.
His expertise has been recognized internationally, receiving awards from the United Kingdom's Institute of Payroll Professionals for assisting their strategic development and recognition from the American Payroll Association, which stated, "Culhane has overseen his association's growth into a world-class professional organization."
