Highlights
Elaine's passion for payroll, continual learning, volunteering and work advanced her through a payroll career spanning 27 years. She attended Memorial University and distance education to earn her Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certification in 2007. Elaine has been an active Subject Matter Expert with the CPA for over 16 years, starting in 1991 as a member of the St. John's Branch and Atlantic Region. Elaine also chaired the Task Force that developed the second CPA payroll guidelines publication titled "Pay Statement Guidelines," which was presented to members at the 2008 National Conference. "I will always look back at my year as Chairman of the CPA as the highlight of my payroll career. I would have to say my proudest moment was when I accepted the gavel from Past Chairman, Alan Sinclair, at the Annual General Meeting in my hometown of St. John's, Newfoundland, on July 5, 2007. In all sincerity, this has been a great year, and it has been my privilege to represent the payroll community as Chairman of this dynamic association," said Elaine in DIALOGUE magazine, May/June 2008.
