10 years of involvement with the CPA and over 20 years of experience in the financial sector. When she addressed CPA members for the first time as Chairman, she spoke proudly and confidently of the Association's position and objectives in the upcoming year.

"One of the CPA's key strengths is that we consistently align our organizational objectives with our strategic plan, which ensures that our efforts are effective and all of our activities contribute to fulfilling our mission," Janice stated. "Another strength is the shared leadership between the CPA Board and staff, which enables each of us to focus on the strategies that most closely tie in with our professional strengths."

Janice draws from extensive experience. Upon graduating from St. Mary's University with Bachelor degrees in both Economics and Finance, she worked for one of Canada's leading chartered banks. She holds a Fellowship from the Institute of Canadian Bankers. Currently, Janice is Director of Industry Relations at ADP Canada, one of the world's largest providers of business outsourcing solutions for HR, payroll, tax and benefits administration.

She became involved with the CPA in 1999 when she became a member, and then later, Co-Chair of the Federal Government Relations Advisory Council (FGRAC). She continues to provide her expertise as a payroll service provider to many of the Association's government advocacy efforts through this highly effective Council. She has also acted as Chair of the Provincial Government Relations Advisory Council (PGRAC) and participated on several joint CPA/Government Task Forces. Further, she represented the CPA at the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development's Subcommittee Workshop on Global Standard Payroll Audits in the UK in 2007.

"Since I first met Janice, I have been impressed with her analytical skills. She is one of Canada's foremost experts on the implementation of government legislation because she has an unique ability to review a complicated piece of legislation and assess how it will impact payroll at the systems level and, more importantly, at the workflow level," says CPA President Patrick Culhane. "She is also a highly effective communicator and presenter, and I look forward to her representing the CPA over the coming year."
