CPA Web Seminar Series
PRESENTED DIRECT-TO-YOUR-DESKTOP by the Canadian Payroll
Association
Archived Presentation
Topic Description
Are you aware of your obligations under the Canada Labour Code,
Part III? Do you know how to apply all of your legislative
responsibilities under the Code?
Designed specifically for organizations that fall under the
Canada Labour Code (CLC), this webinar provides an introduction
and overview to the legislation and regulations governing organizations
under the CLC, Part III, such as banks, railways and organizations
operating in telecommunications.
Given the many aspects of the CLC, getting a handle on the
legislation and regulations can be a challenge. The session will cover
the following elements of the legislation, including time for questions
and answers:
- Introduction: Canada Labour Code vs. employment/labour
standards
- Scope and coverage of legislation
- Hours of work
- Statutory holidays
- Paid and unpaid leaves
- Vacation
- Termination
This seminar is not suitable for organizations
governed by provincial labour/employment standards
legislation.
This informative two-hour session will include a 50-60 minute
presentation, responses to pre-submitted questions and an open forum to
ask your live questions to our facilitators.
Participants are encouraged to submit their questions in advance and
can do so by emailing syeda@payroll.ca before June 16,
2010.
This session will be presented by Annie Chong of Carswell, with
participation from other members of the Carswell Payroll Consulting
