About the CPA

The Canadian Payroll Association (CPA) has represented employers’ payroll interests since 1978 with its mission of Payroll Leadership through Advocacy and Education. Effective and efficient payroll administration is mission-critical because of the magnitude of the payments made by employers and the breadth of their legislative compliance requirements. 1.5 million Canadian employers counts on payroll professionals to annually pay $730 billion in salaries, $230 billion in statutory remittances, and over $80 billion in health and retirement benefits, while complying with more than 185 federal and provincial legislative requirements. Legislative compliance is crucial with significant penalties and costs for non-compliance related to such federal regulations as the Income Tax Act, the Canada Pension Plan Act, Employment Insurance Act, as well as to provincial requirements such as Workers’ Compensation plans and Employment Standards Acts.

Subject Matter Experts

The CPA needs Subject Matter Experts  to review the Association’s intellectual assets, such as the curriculum for the Certified Payroll Manager (CPM) and Payroll Compliance Practitioner (PCP) certifications, the Professional Development Series (PDS) seminars, and other products and services, and to participate in task forces, committees, and councils.

Whether you consider yourself a novice or an expert, being a Subject Matter Expert will help you develop your professional competencies and enable you to contribute your knowledge and expertise to the Association’s knowledge bank. Subject Matter Experts represent the next generation of volunteers.

Please accept our invitation to become a CPA Subject Matter Expert by reviewing the Subject Matter Expert Code of Conduct and completing the Subject Matter Expert Web Profile today! We will then match your interests and talents with the needs of the payroll community.

The information you provide on your CPA Subject Matter Expert profile will only be used for the purpose of matching your skills and interests to the needs of the Association.

The Canadian Payroll Association appreciates your support.
