Applied Payroll Management
Applied Payroll Management is an intensive web based online course, requiring frequent Internet access. Students should have a mastery of basic computer skills, including word processing, internet browsers and e-mail software.
This is not a self-paced web based course. Students are required to contribute to discussions, complete assignments and write a final exam according to predetermined due dates. Late submissions will not be graded.
Students must actively participate in online discussions either individually, in groups or in teams. As this participation is worth 20% of the final mark, students are encouraged to post thoughtful, detailed responses by the due dates. To keep current in the course, it is recommended that students monitor the discussion boards at least every other day.
In addition to participation in the discussions, students will complete two assignments, each worth 20% and write a final exam worth 40% of the final mark. The first individual assignment requires the preparation of a verbal presentation and a written report. The second assignment is a case study where students will be assigned to a group to work collaboratively on drafting a Team Charter and submitting a case study; students will then individually complete a peer evaluation for each member of their group.
- Participation – 20%
- Assignment 1 (individual) – 20%
